About The Position

Steigerwaldt Land Services, Inc., a full-service resource solutions company, is seeking a limited-term, full-time GIS Technician. This is considered an entry-level position within the Inventory and Geospatial Solutions department. The company, founded in 1957, is a third-generation, family-owned and operated business with over 65 years of experience in appraisal, analysis, real estate, right-of-way, environmental, and forestry services. Steigerwaldt employs over 50 people across offices in Tomahawk and Hayward, Wisconsin, and Marquette, Michigan. Competent with Microsoft Office software
Experience with GPS data collecting and processing
Experience with ESRI GIS software and GIS mapping and data collection principles
Current valid driver’s license with personal vehicle suitable for field work (mileage is reimbursed)

Responsibilities

Create maps and graphs using GIS software and related equipment
Compile geographic data from a variety of sources including censuses, field observation, satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and existing maps
Enter new map data
Other duties as assigned
