About The Position

Steigerwaldt Land Services, Inc., a full-service resource solutions company, is seeking a limited-term, full-time GIS Technician. This is considered an entry-level position within the Inventory and Geospatial Solutions department. The company, founded in 1957, is a third-generation, family-owned and operated business with over 65 years of experience in appraisal, analysis, real estate, right-of-way, environmental, and forestry services. Steigerwaldt employs over 50 people across offices in Tomahawk and Hayward, Wisconsin, and Marquette, Michigan.   • Experience with GPS data collecting and processing
  • Experience with ESRI GIS software and GIS mapping and data collection principles
  • Current valid driver’s license with personal vehicle suitable for field work (mileage is reimbursed)

Responsibilities

  • Create maps and graphs using GIS software and related equipment
  • Compile geographic data from a variety of sources including censuses, field observation, satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and existing maps
  • Enter new map data
  • Other duties as assigned
