About The Position

OHM Advisors is a community advancement firm with a team of more than 800 professionals working across architecture, engineering, planning, surveying, and construction engineering. The GIS Specialist supports projects across engineering, planning, architecture, and water resources, collaborating with the GIS team on field data collection, GIS database development, and mapping. The position offers hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to emerging geospatial technologies.

The role is based onsite at an OHM Advisors location in Ohio or Pennsylvania; local candidates are preferred.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems, Planning, or a related field, with a focus on GIS preferred.
• Strong experience with Esri ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
• Proven work building and launching ArcGIS Experience Builder apps and ArcGIS StoryMaps.
• Strong understanding of urban planning principles, zoning, and community development.
• Experience creating map products and understanding basic cartographic principles.
• Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
• Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and eagerness to learn.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Ability to work onsite at an OHM Advisors location in Ohio or Pennsylvania.

Nice To Haves

• One or more years of GIS experience.
• Exposure to Python and/or Arcade scripting.
• Local candidates are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with developing and maintaining GIS databases for utility management and other infrastructure projects using ArcGIS Pro.
• Assist in designing and developing GIS database schemas.
• Design and launch public-facing Esri ArcGIS Experience Builder apps and ArcGIS StoryMaps.
• Use ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online to support a variety of project needs.
• Participate in project meetings and professional development opportunities.
• Represent the firm professionally when interacting with internal teams, clients, and the public.
