About The Position

The GIS Specialist will support projects across engineering, planning, architecture, and water resources. Working with the GIS team, the specialist will assist with field data collection, GIS database development, and mapping for infrastructure projects. The role provides hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to emerging geospatial technologies. The position is onsite at an OHM Advisors location in Ohio or Pennsylvania; local candidates are preferred.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems, Planning, or a related field, with a focus on GIS preferred.
• Strong experience with Esri ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
• Proven experience building and launching ArcGIS Experience Builder apps and ArcGIS StoryMaps.
• Strong understanding of urban planning principles, zoning, and community development.
• Experience creating map products and understanding basic cartographic principles.
• Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
• Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and eagerness to learn.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Ability to work onsite at an OHM Advisors location in Ohio or Pennsylvania.

Nice To Haves

• One or more years of GIS experience.
• Exposure to Python and/or Arcade scripting.
• Local candidates are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with developing and maintaining GIS databases for utility management and other infrastructure projects using ArcGIS Pro.
• Assist in designing and developing GIS database schemas.
• Design and launch public-facing Esri ArcGIS Experience Builder apps and ArcGIS StoryMaps.
• Use ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online to support project needs.
• Participate in project meetings and professional development opportunities.
• Represent the firm professionally when interacting with internal teams, clients, and the public.
