About The Position

The mid-level GIS Specialist provides standard GIS support, data processing, and ArcGIS platform administration for a State of North Carolina client in Raleigh, North Carolina. The role focuses on user and data management, metadata creation, accessibility enhancements, and customer interaction. The specialist supports project setup, including dashboards and web applications, publishes hosted services, and helps ensure publishing complies with ADA/WCAG accessibility standards. The role requires effective communication with GIS and non-GIS users and independent troubleshooting.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience with Survey123, Field Maps, and Experience Builder.
• At least 5 years of strong oral and written communication experience, including translating non-GIS requests into GIS outcomes.
• At least 5 years of experience with ArcGIS Pro.
• At least 5 years of experience with ArcGIS Online administration, web mapping, and cartography.
• At least 4 years of experience with ArcGIS Enterprise administration and server management.
• At least 3 years of experience with Arcade and Python scripting.

Responsibilities

• Provide GIS support for ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise, including user management, data management, and documentation.
• Publish hosted and referenced map, image, and feature services across ArcGIS deployments.
• Gather requirements and consult with business units on GIS tools and capabilities.
• Design Experience Builder applications and contribute to accessibility initiatives, including ADA/WCAG compliance.
• Support project work from requirements through customer acceptance.
• Ensure alignment with security policies.
