About The Position

The Geographic Information Systems Intern supports Real Estate and other teams with projects involving geospatial data gathering, mapping, spatial analysis, and data visualization. The internship offers students or recent graduates hands-on experience applying GIS technology to real-world projects. Interns may support teams including Real Estate, Facilities, Risk, and Marketing. The position works Monday through Friday between 7 AM and 5 PM, and requires flexibility in scheduling. Travel is 5–10%.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or a related field.
Ability to work a flexible schedule within the hours of 7 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
Ability to travel 5–10%.

Responsibilities

Collect and acquire geospatial data from sources such as satellite imagery, utilities, aerial photographs, and field surveys.
Organize, clean, and maintain databases to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
Conduct spatial analysis using GIS software, including buffering, overlay analysis, and proximity analysis.
Create maps and visualizations, including designing map layouts, symbology, and labeling.
Perform quality assurance checks on GIS data and outputs, and identify and resolve errors or discrepancies.
Document workflows, procedures, and findings to support knowledge sharing and project reproducibility.
Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate with team members, participate in team meetings, and contribute ideas and insights to support project objectives and deliverables.
Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
