  • Practical experience in GIS data preparation, cleaning, validation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience with QGIS, ArcGIS, or similar GIS software platforms.
  • Experience working with vector data, attribute tables, projections, coordinate reference systems, and spatial data troubleshooting.
  • Experience with remote sensing and raster datasets, including imagery validation and quality assessment.
  • Ability to identify and resolve spatial data quality issues while documenting processing methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • QGIS, ArcGIS, GeoPackage, Shapefiles, GeoJSON, and map production.
  • Spatial analysis techniques including joins, overlays, buffers, clipping, and area calculations.
  • Geometry validation, topology management, CRS/projection management, and data quality assurance.
  • Raster and remote sensing workflows, including raster-vector integration and zonal statistics.
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of PostGIS, PostgreSQL, spatial SQL, and database-backed GIS workflows will be advantageous.
  • Exposure to Python, R, SQL, GDAL/OGR, GeoPandas, satellite imagery, drone imagery, or automated GIS workflows will be beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, clean, transform, structure, and maintain GIS datasets for application workflows, reporting, and mapping requirements.
  • Perform spatial data quality assurance, including geometry validation, topology checks, projection alignment, and attribute verification.
  • Conduct GIS analysis using overlays, spatial joins, buffers, clipping, dissolves, aggregations, and proximity analysis techniques.
  • Work with remote sensing and raster datasets, including satellite imagery, drone imagery, elevation surfaces, and vegetation index products.
  • Support spatial database activities through data loading, validation, querying, and reporting dataset preparation.
  • Document data processes, assumptions, limitations, and workflows while supporting stakeholders across technical and business teams.
