ResourceWise is seeking a highly motivated GIS Analyst with expertise in satellite imagery, remote sensing, and geospatial automation to support the development and quality assurance of large-scale land monitoring products. This role combines traditional GIS analysis with AI-driven workflows to improve image interpretation, change detection, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate has experience working with Sentinel satellite imagery, Python scripting, and geospatial data processing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Remote Sensing, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of professional GIS or remote sensing experience.
  • Strong experience with Sentinel-1 and/or Sentinel-2 imagery.
  • Proficiency in Python for geospatial analysis and automation.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro.
  • Experience performing quality assurance on remote sensing imagery.
  • Knowledge of raster processing and geospatial data management.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cloud-based geospatial platforms such as Google Earth Engine, AWS, or Azure.
  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
  • Understanding of image classification, segmentation, and computer vision techniques.
  • Familiarity with SQL and spatial databases (PostGIS, SQL Server Spatial).
  • Remote Sensing: Sentinel-1, Sentinel-2, multispectral imagery
  • Candidates with experience in forestry, agriculture, environmental monitoring, land cover mapping, natural resource management, or other large-scale Earth observation programs are especially encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality assurance (QA/QC) on satellite imagery and derived geospatial products.
  • Evaluate image quality for cloud cover, atmospheric effects, geometric accuracy, and radiometric consistency.
  • Identify and document anomalies, processing errors, and data quality issues.
  • Develop and maintain QA procedures and validation metrics.
  • Design, implement, and refine automated change detection workflows using multi-temporal satellite imagery.
  • Analyze vegetation and forestry changes using Sentinel imagery.
  • Validate change detection outputs against reference datasets and ground truth information.
  • Improve detection accuracy by incorporating new algorithms and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning to improve geospatial production workflows.
  • Develop AI-assisted routines for image classification, feature extraction, anomaly detection, and quality assurance.
  • Evaluate emerging AI tools and integrate them into GIS and remote sensing operations.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to deploy scalable AI-enabled geospatial solutions.
  • Develop Python scripts and geoprocessing tools to automate repetitive GIS tasks.
  • Process, analyze, and manage large geospatial datasets.
  • Maintain reproducible workflows using version control and documentation.
  • Support integration of GIS data into enterprise applications and cloud environments.
