About The Position

NV5 is seeking a GIS-focused Solutions Specialist with experience in Cityworks and/or Trimble Unity (Maintain, Permit) to support both solution delivery and client engagement. This role is intentionally flexible and can be scoped for Senior Analysts, Solutions Engineers, or Solutions Architects, depending on experience. You’ll help design, configure, and deliver solutions while supporting client discussions, demos, and implementation efforts. Requirements

Experience with Cityworks and/or Trimble Unity (Maintain or Permit preferred)
Background in GIS systems (Esri / ArcGIS)
Experience in system configuration, implementation, or support
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Experience with solution design, integrations, or system architecture (Preferred for Mid–Senior Levels)
Client-facing experience (workshops, demos, or consulting) (Preferred for Mid–Senior Levels)
Exposure to APIs, data migration, or enterprise systems (Preferred for Mid–Senior Levels)
Pre-sales or proposal support experience (Preferred for Mid–Senior Levels)
FME or other data integration tools (Bonus Skills)
Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) (Bonus Skills)
Automation or enterprise system administration (Bonus Skills)
3+ years experience (Senior Analyst Guideline)
5+ years experience (Solutions Engineer Guideline)
8+ years experience (Solutions Architect Guideline)

Responsibilities

Support the design, configuration, and implementation of Cityworks and Trimble Unity solutions
Configure workflows, service requests, inspections, permits, and user roles
Assist with system integrations (Esri, APIs, third-party tools) and data migration
Troubleshoot system issues related to configuration, data quality, and performance
Participate in testing, validation, and go-live activities
Work with clients to gather requirements and translate business needs into system solutions
Participate in discovery sessions, workshops, and solution reviews
Provide ongoing support and guidance throughout implementation
Recommend system architecture and best practices aligned with client needs (Solutions Engineers – Solutions Architects)
Lead system assessments and identify improvement opportunities (Solutions Engineers – Solutions Architects)
Guide deployments, upgrades, and integrations (Solutions Engineers – Solutions Architects)
Support or lead product demos and client presentations (Solutions Engineers – Solutions Architects)
Contribute to proposals, technical documentation, and solution scoping (Solutions Engineers – Solutions Architects)
Assist with estimates (LOE/ROM) and solution design for new opportunities (Solutions Engineers – Solutions Architects)
Work with cross-functional teams to deliver projects
Help document best practices, configurations, and processes
Translate requirements into actionable tasks (Agile/Jira)
