About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining and supporting the Geographic Information System (GIS) through various mapping applications and ensures the integrity of the Transmission and Distribution Plant. Position supports Engineering and Operations personnel use of the system for Information and data integration, as well as supporting staff with use of electronic field devices.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of using computer systems, which may include setting up and using hardware and software programs, entering data or processing information
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing member service
  • Skilled in time management
  • Skilled in prioritizing and managing changing priorities
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to listen and understand information verbally and in writing
  • Ability to anticipate, identify, analyze and resolve conflict and problems
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field, OR Associate's Degree AND three years related work experience
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  • Computer literacy is required. (MS Software, Word, Access, Excel).
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • We also conduct pre-employment drug testing. Any job offer will be based on the results of background and drug testing.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous utility experience is desired but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Supports Engineering with workflow of capital improvements to the Transmission and Distribution Plant, as well as the as-building of those improvements.
  • Ensures proper connectivity of the Transmission and Distribution plant to support Outage Management Systems (OMS).
  • Performs post outage Quality Checks of outage data.
  • May provide hardware support of tablets running GIS applications, as it relates to supporting GIS integration, and field use.
  • Support, train and develop best practices for efficient use of the GIS suite
  • Create reports and templates
  • Monitor mapping applications and databases
  • Stay abreast of advances in technology
  • Scheduling of all necessary appointments to utilize engineering forces in the most efficient manner.
  • Create work orders, assists in the printing of all necessary documents required in the operation of Engineering Services such as work orders, maps, and drawings.
  • Record mileage changes of primary and secondary monthly and total figures quarterly for accounting department.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
