About The Position

As a Junior GIS Analyst, you will join our Digital & Project Services team. This role offers opportunities for office-hybrid-remote work within Canada. You will apply your understanding of GIS to a diverse range of environmental and engineering projects within an innovative geospatial environment. Your responsibilities will include creating and editing spatial data and mapping products, performing junior-level geospatial analyses, generating, editing, and maintaining relational geospatial databases, and assisting in updating mapping standards and work processes. At times, you may also support field activities as a field second, depending on workload.

Requirements

  • Possess an undergraduate degree in a related discipline or technical diploma
  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Understanding of geographic and projected coordinate systems and transformations
  • Proficient with ESRI ArcGIS Desktop software suite and extensions
  • Proficient with ESRI ArcPro
  • Working knowledge of ESRI Field Maps and Survey 123 data collection services
  • An ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, regulations, drawings and job specifications
  • Have a keen eye for cartographic design and the capability to produce high quality cartographic products
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work well in a team atmosphere

Nice To Haves

  • ESRI Enterprise Geodatabases
  • ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal) / Online
  • FME or ESRI model builder
  • Acquiring or processing UAV imagery
  • Experience with linear infrastructure projects such as pipelines
  • AutoCAD Map or Civil 3D
  • GIS Programming experience using technology such as Python, Arcade, R, JavaScript, C#, SQL, and related skills
  • Field experience (along with applicable certifications)
  • Experience in project planning and coordination

Benefits

  • Hourly rate range of $28.00-$32.00
