About The Position

The Head Girls Basketball Coach leads and develops CCA's girls basketball program — running practices and games, teaching skills and strategy, and mentoring student-athletes spiritually, academically, and personally. The Coach models Christ-like character and runs a safe, well-organized, competitive program aligned with CCA's mission and applicable FHSAA, league, and state requirements.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
Prior coaching, playing, or instructional experience in basketball
Working knowledge of basketball rules, fundamentals, and strategy at the competitive school level.
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Proficiency with email and team communication apps.
A personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Active membership in a Bible-believing local church.
Full agreement with the Statement of Faith, Lifestyle Standards, and Code of Conduct of Calvary Assembly of God of Ormond Beach, FL.
Christian character and lifestyle that serves as a positive example to students, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities

Plan and lead practices, games, and team meetings on the schedule set by the Athletic Director.
Teach age-appropriate fundamentals, offensive and defensive strategy, conditioning, and rules of basketball.
Build a season plan covering practice structure, game preparation, scouting, and player development.
Evaluate players fairly through tryouts and the season; give feedback that builds skill, character, and confidence.
Recruit, coordinate, and supervise assistant coaches and team volunteers as approved by the Athletic Director.
Integrate prayer, devotionals, and biblical principles into team activities.
Model integrity, sportsmanship, and self-control with players, parents, officials, and spectators.
Mentor student-athletes in personal growth, academics, and spiritual formation.
Maintain a safe environment; monitor player health, hydration, and conditioning loads.
Follow CCA's concussion protocol; remove any student-athlete suspected of head injury until cleared.
Confirm all athletes have current physicals, signed participation forms, and required consents before play.
Inspect equipment, uniforms, and the gym facility; report hazards or damage to the Athletic Director immediately.
Communicate schedules, expectations, and updates clearly and on time to students, parents, and staff.
Respond to parent and student concerns professionally and biblically.
Maintain accurate records: attendance, eligibility documents, incident reports, statistics, and season evaluations.
Steward equipment, uniforms, facilities, and budgeted resources responsibly.
Represent CCA positively at games, tournaments, and school events.
Comply with all CCA policies, the Employee Handbook, and applicable FHSAA, league, and state regulations.
