About The Position

This position is within the Office of Technical Services and is responsible for managing and maintaining ODOT’s statewide traffic monitoring databases (TMC, TCDS, TFMS, PLCS), ensuring data integrity and system compatibility. The role involves providing technical guidance and leading improvements to traffic data collection workflows, evaluating emerging technologies, and refining data-capture methods for efficiency and modernization. The administrator will also assist in the annual traffic data collection and publication process, ensuring accuracy standards are met for all released datasets and resources.

Requirements

  • 4 yrs. trg. or 4 yrs. exp. in database & information management & data base systems & use of projections, coordinate systems & map algebra in operations of geographic information systems; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in employee training & development; 4 courses or 12 mos. exp. in budgeting.
  • Completion of undergraduate core program in computer science to include data structures, data base & information management & data base systems; 24 mos. trg. or 24 mos. exp. in use of projections, coordinate systems & map algebra in operations of geographic information systems; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in employee training & development; 4 courses or 12 mos. exp. in budgeting.
  • Completion of graduate core program in computer science to include data structures, data base & information management & data base systems; 18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in use of projections, coordinate systems & map algebra in operations of geographic information systems; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in employee training & development; 4 courses or 12 mos. exp. in budgeting.
  • 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. as GIMS Specialist 2, 85772.
  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
