About The Position

Moravian Academy's Swain Campus is seeking a Gifted and Support Specialist for a full-time, 10-month role serving students across grades 1–8. This position is for an educator who can balance providing challenges for gifted students with offering support to those who need it. The specialist will work with students in small groups and individually, collaborating with teachers, other specialists, and families. Key responsibilities include adapting core curricula such as Singapore Math, Wilson Fundations, Fishtank ELA, and Inquiry Journeys, creating individualized learning plans, and being an integral part of the Student Support Team. This role requires deep knowledge, structural flexibility, and a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of all learners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Gifted Education, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering targeted interventions and enrichment programming for elementary-aged students.
  • Deep understanding of neurodiversity, child development, and evidence-based strategies for learning support and gifted pedagogy.
  • Proficiency in using assessment data to develop, monitor, and adjust individualized learning plans (IEPs, 504s, or enrichment profiles).
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with classroom teachers to provide in-class support and differentiation.
  • Successful completion of required Pennsylvania background clearances (Act 34, Act 151, Act 114) prior to start of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree and/or state certification preferred.
  • Experience with Singapore Math, Wilson Fundations, Fishtank ELA, or Inquiry Journeys preferred.
  • Secondary mathematics experience (Algebra, Geometry, Statistics) preferred.
  • Background in an independent school or college-preparatory setting preferred.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace for Education preferred.
