About The Position

This position supports Mercy's philosophy of patient centered care by providing an exceptional customer service experience and working with the team to increase sales for the Gift Shops. Job Duties Open and close the shop, following shop procedures. Prepare cash register drawers for the next day. Understand the POS system, charge terminal and payroll deduction reader. Utilize proper phone etiquette and knowledge of flower phone order procedures. Fulfill online Gift Shop orders as requested. Follow procedures for deliveries to patients and hospital staff. Demonstrate knowledge of shop merchandise, maintain supply levels and ensure upkeep of shop appearance. Maintain a team atmosphere with staff and volunteers. Attend scheduled staff meetings. Deliver a high level of customer service. Meet and exceed personal and store sales’ goals. If applicable to work location, understands and operates barista equipment, follows procedures, and complies with department of health regulations and rules. Follows Mercy's safety guidelines, carries out job-specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents and injuries.

Requirements

  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Able to learn cash management principles and procedures.
  • Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
  • Able to operate cash register and Gift Shop POS system.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous retail experience preferred.
