About The Position

Newport Harbor Island Resort presents an exciting opportunity to join a premier resort destination in Newport, Rhode Island, offering a picturesque location overlooking the stunning Newport Harbor. As a Gift Shop Attendant, you will be the face of our gift shop, providing exceptional service, showcasing a variety of products, and assisting guests in finding the perfect mementos of their stay. You will welcome and engage with guests, providing outstanding customer service, maintaining a visually appealing and well-stocked gift shop, and processing sales transactions accurately and efficiently. This role involves providing recommendations and information about products, keeping track of inventory, replenishing stock as needed, ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the gift shop, and promoting special offers and promotions to enhance sales. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Friendly and outgoing personality
• Ability to multitask and handle cash transactions
• Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory tracking
• Knowledge of merchandise presentation and display
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as required

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in retail or customer service roles preferred
