About The Position

Gateway Endoscopy Center is seeking a full-time GI Technician to join its team. The position offers a choice of working four or five days per week and competitive pay for the right candidate. Applicants should have at least one year of GI Technician experience. The GI Technician delivers safe patient care as directed by a Registered Nurse and in accordance with center policies and procedures. The role assists physicians with procedures, anticipates their needs before and during procedures, supports patients’ and families’ learning needs, and helps maintain safety. It also includes caring for and cleaning endoscopy equipment, maintaining inventory, and following aseptic techniques.

Requirements

At least one year of GI Technician experience.
High school graduate or equivalent.
Strong customer service skills.
Manual dexterity to handle instruments quickly.
Conscientious, organized, and able to handle the stress of a busy GI lab environment.
Ability to function as a team player.
Ability to lift 25 pounds.
Ability to communicate and understand English, both written and verbal.

Nice To Haves

Certification in endoscope reprocessing.
One to three years of previous GI Lab experience.

Responsibilities

Deliver safe patient care as directed by the Registered Nurse and according to center policies and procedures.
Assist physicians efficiently and effectively with procedures.
Anticipate physicians’ needs before and during procedures.
Address patients’ and families’ learning needs as identified in the plan of care.
Provide appropriate interventions related to safety issues.
Demonstrate knowledge and competence in the designated skills for the position.
Clean and care for endoscopy equipment properly.
Maintain adequate inventory levels.
Demonstrate principles of aseptic technique.
