About The Position

Under general supervision of a Physician and Registered Nurse, the GI Tech/Clinical Associate assists in providing direct and indirect patient care on a general or specialized unit by performing a variety of GI Tech duties. The Endoscopy Technician prepares and maintains the scopes, instruments, equipment, and sterile environments needed for gastroenterology procedures. The position requires adherence to Joint Commission regulatory standards, infection-control practices, and septic technique. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Ability to comprehend GI Lab-specific operations.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician training program.
• SGNA GI Technical Specialist certification.
• Certified Flexible Endoscopic Reprocessor (CFER).
• Two years of experience as a GI Tech.

Responsibilities
