About The Position

Incumbents perform basic medical, technical and administrative support services for assigned area. Incumbents process routine endoscopes, non-disposable endoscopic equipment, and may provide standby technical assistance for routine endoscopic procedures. May assist the front office operations by answering incoming phone calls, maintaining records, preparing reports and updating patient files.

Requirements

  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • Medical Assistant Diploma or Certificate of Competency / Recognition in Medical Assisting Clinical / Back Office or minimum 3 years experience working as a GI/Endoscopy Technician in a hospital setting
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Current GI Certification through the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates
  • Current BLS certification
  • Ability to work well in a constantly changing environment
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds
  • Must be able to provide proof of work authorization

Nice To Haves

  • Phlebotomy certification
  • Flexibility to work variable shifts, including occasional weekends or holidays
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese
