We're looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to become our first dedicated HR leader in Quebec. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Human Resources, this role will shape the employee experience, partner closely with leaders, build strong HR practices, and contribute to national HR initiatives in a growing organization where HR is viewed as a true strategic partner with a seat at the table. As the primary HR partner for our Quebec operations, you'll support leaders and employees across the province while serving as the local HR expert. You'll also collaborate closely with the broader HR team on company-wide initiatives and provide support on national projects and priorities as our business continues to grow.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, Labour Relations, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience in a generalist or HR management role.
  • French/English bilingualism is required, as this role will also provide support for employees in all operating regions across Canada.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms, including back-end administration.
  • Strong and extensive knowledge of Quebec employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Experience in managing employee relations and return to work processes, including navigating complex situations.
  • Ability to work within a remote team, while also working independently within the Quebec region.
  • Strong coaching and relationship-building skills with managers at all levels.
  • Comfortable balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growing organization.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • High level of professionalism, sound judgment, and discretion.
  • Valid driver's license, access to a vehicle for transportation, and willingness to travel occasionally within Quebec and to other O'Dell locations.

Nice To Haves

  • CRHA designation (or eligibility to obtain) is preferred. Equivalent HR designations from other Canadian provinces will also be considered.
  • Experience supporting organizational growth, change management, or mergers and acquisitions is considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Acting as a strategic business partner to leaders by providing proactive HR guidance that supports operational and business objectives.
  • Providing day-to-day HR guidance and coaching to managers on employee relations, performance management, team effectiveness, and workplace issues.
  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and employee integration activities for Quebec-based positions.
  • Leading return-to-work planning, accommodation processes, leave administration, and related employee support.
  • Ensuring compliance with Quebec employment legislation, employment standards, occupational health and safety requirements, and internal HR policies.
  • Supporting compensation administration, salary reviews, HR metrics, reporting, and other HR programs to support data-driven decision making.
  • Analyzing HR metrics and trends to identify opportunities and provide recommendations to business leaders.
  • Assisting the Vice President, Human Resources with mergers and acquisitions, including HR due diligence, change management, policy harmonization, and organizational transition support.
  • Partnering with the Vice President, Human Resources and business leaders on national HR initiatives, process improvements, workforce planning, and organizational projects that support O'Dell's continued growth across Canada.
  • Building trusted relationships with leaders and employees while promoting a positive, engaging workplace culture.
  • Supporting talent development, succession planning, leadership development, and employee engagement activities.
  • Coaching managers to strengthen leadership capability, improve performance conversations, and build high-performing teams.
  • Identifying opportunities to continuously improve and scale HR policies, programs, processes, and practices as the company grows.
  • Other HR-related tasks as assigned.
