About The Position

We are looking for a Director of Human Resources who will lead the HR function while actively contributing to the achievement of organizational objectives. Reporting directly to the president, the incumbent acts as a strategic partner to the management team. They ensure human resources governance, advise managers on complex issues, and oversee the implementation of practices that promote employee performance, engagement, and well-being. Supported by an HR and Payroll Advisor, the Director is responsible for the direction, decisions, and continuous improvement of the organization's HR practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, industrial relations, administration, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in human resource management (several years in a management role is an asset).
  • Excellent knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience in pay equity, organizational development, and change management.
  • Knowledge of OHS issues and applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the HR strategy in line with the organization's directions and objectives.
  • Act as an expert advisor to senior management and the management team.
  • Ensure rigorous and consistent HR governance throughout the organization.
  • Exercise leadership that fosters a culture of collaboration, accountability, and talent development.
  • Monitor best practices and emerging trends in human resource management.
  • Advise and support managers on all human resource management issues.
  • Support managers in complex situations related to mobilization, performance, labor relations, absenteeism, or disciplinary issues.
  • Develop management skills through coaching, training, and the implementation of effective tools and practices.
  • Promote a uniform and consistent approach to employee management.
  • Interpret and apply labor laws, regulations, policies, and best HR practices.
  • Oversee sensitive files or those presenting legal, financial, or organizational issues.
  • Formulate recommendations to management regarding organizational risks related to human resources.
  • Ensure compliance of HR practices and proactive risk management.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of pay equity.
  • Conduct compensation analyses and make recommendations regarding salary structures.
  • Ensure consistency and equity of compensation practices throughout the organization.
  • Participate in the budgetary planning of human resource-related expenses.
  • Lead the organization's OHS strategy.
  • Oversee the functioning of the joint health and safety committee.
  • Ensure the development, application, and improvement of prevention policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Analyze OHS indicators and recommend necessary actions for continuous improvement.
  • Develop a culture of prevention and accountability regarding health and safety.
  • Develop and implement initiatives that promote talent attraction, engagement, and retention.
  • Participate in succession planning and leadership development.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the organizational culture.
  • Lead or coordinate strategic human resource projects.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop the HR and Payroll Advisor.
  • Define priorities and ensure effective distribution of responsibilities within the HR function.
  • Validate recommendations, processes, and interventions carried out by the HR Advisor.
  • Ensure the quality of services offered to employees and managers.
