About The Position

Tim Hortons (CPG) is seeking a Key Account Manager to join our CPG division. We are an entrepreneurial team of approximately 25 people managing over $500 million in beverage and food sales across retail networks in North America and internationally. The Key Account Manager will lead daily and strategic planning processes with key retailers in the Quebec market. The successful candidate will build strong client relationships, act as an expert on our products, leverage category management knowledge and expertise, and demonstrate how our product portfolio can support client objectives to deliver superior results while driving the growth of Tim Hortons® at-home products in Canada.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education; a specialization in business is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience with a major Canadian retailer.
  • Solid general knowledge of the industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Strong demonstrated analytical skills, including the ability to derive and communicate key insights.
  • Ability to anticipate the needs of internal and external clients and proactively seek to meet them.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, demanding, and dynamic work environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of computers and software (Microsoft Office, Nielsen, retailer POS).
  • Highly organized, factual, and detail-oriented individual.
  • Understanding of fundamental customer sales principles (distribution, price, promotion, and displays).
  • Comfortable transforming data into actionable insights and presentations tailored to the audience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in diverse environments; equally comfortable presenting to seasoned executives as well as interacting with a group of new hires.
  • Understand the upstream (internal cross-functional stakeholders) and downstream (brokers and retailers) implications of decisions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the coffee industry is an asset.
  • Some overnight travel is required.

Responsibilities

  • Understand banner strategies and develop tailored joint business plans to meet and exceed volume, profit, and commercial investment objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with clients in category management and procurement teams at multiple levels, including regular meetings with key contacts.
  • Lead the entire sales process, from joint business planning, negotiation, forecasting, and commercial fund management to business reviews and gap reduction plans.
  • Exercise cross-functional leadership internally and with the client through frequent and proactive mobilization of available resources.
  • Analyze key performance indicators, derive key insights, and formulate recommendations on volume, commercial investments, promotions, new product launches, and pricing.
  • Demonstrate and develop financial knowledge through understanding and managing income statements.
  • Develop monthly forecasts based on retail sales, promotional plans, and category trends.
  • Lead the development and execution of commercial marketing programs, including displays and client merchandising initiatives.
  • Support the ideation and commercialization of new product innovations.
  • Collaborate with the Key Account Manager for English Canada to optimize performance and relationships with national clients.
