Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 13 kg repetitively.
  • One to three years of sales experience desired with a good understanding of CPG sales techniques.
  • Knowledge and ability to develop and utilize strategies, practices, and tools to communicate with retail customers and manage day-to-day retail store operations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a team-oriented environment.
  • Attention to detail and a fresh mindset.
  • Ability to take initiative in pursuing goals and commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and knowledge of iPad technology.

  • Bachelor's degree required in business or a closely related field.

Responsibilities

  • Promote sales points to customers through consultative business partnerships
  • Develop and manage customer relationships: establish and maintain consultative business relationships with key customer decision-makers at all levels. Partner with key decision-makers to develop and implement a detailed action plan to increase and improve sales results in their stores, based on sales analysis and best practices. Cultivate a network of influential contacts at all levels of internal and external customers to achieve sales objectives in the assigned territory. Utilize strategic relationships with key decision-makers to influence and negotiate customer assistance in merchandising Hershey products.
  • Analyze data and prepare for sales calls: prepare retail sales calls by obtaining and analyzing relevant store, product, and market data and creating effective sales tools and presentations for the key decision-maker during the call. Utilize and complete pre-call planning methods and other company tools. Review and make recommendations to the District Sales Manager to modify routes to optimize commercial efficiency for all sales visits in the territory.
  • Sales: engage in forward selling using consultative selling techniques of predetermined sales plans with key store and market decision-makers during each retail sales call, utilizing provided data sources, technology, processes, and procedures. Maximize sales and presentation opportunities by conducting store visits and obtaining key decision-maker commitment to positive results. Adapt sales and merchandising to encourage key decision-makers to order additional products to increase sales and achieve the best possible quality for promotional product merchandising locations.
  • Administrative responsibilities: complete and submit electronic or written reports on daily and weekly activities, expenses, competitive activity, account changes, promotions, and all administrative functions in the assigned territory using company-approved methods and technology.
  • Merchandising: achieve all merchandising objectives by executing customer-specific promotion plans through effective use of forward selling and maintaining permanent secondary displays and other presentation vehicles established as part of the retail sales execution plan. Ensure new items are stocked and out-of-stocks are addressed and corrected on each call.
  • Strategy development and process improvement: develop and recommend strategies to improve the overall efficiency of business operations in the territory, district, or region. As needed, foster promotional partnerships in the assigned category.
