About The Position

Pasqal designs and develops Quantum Processing Units and dedicated software tools. These innovative processors address applications which are out of the reach of the most powerful existing supercomputers, encompassing real-world challenges as well as fundamental science. As they are very low energy intensive, they will significantly contribute to reduce the carbon footprint of the computing industry. Pasqal has partnerships with key users in the fields of energy, IT, finance, drug and chemical design, automotive. The maturity and potential of our technology and the quality of our scientific team has been rewarded several times at French, European and global levels. As a Project Manager, you will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for designing, manufacturing, and testing laser systems based on integrated photonic circuits. The selected candidate will work closely with the design, manufacturing, testing, product, and operations teams in a fast-paced development environment where technical priorities, timelines, and deliverables must be coordinated with rigor. The position is based at our offices in Montreal, with occasional travel to the Eastern Townships and Europe. A training period of approximately six months is planned within the development teams to gain a solid understanding of Aeponyx’s products, working methods, and internal processes.

Requirements

  • Degree in engineering physics, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or any other relevant field of study related to science or engineering.
  • Hands-on experience working in a team, with a high level of autonomy in planning, organizing, and executing tasks.
  • Strong ability to understand complex technical issues and translate them into clear action plans.
  • Excellent communication, simplification, and collaboration skills with teams from diverse areas of expertise.
  • The selected candidate must be able to communicate effectively in French, both orally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

  • Training in project management, innovation management, or leadership is an asset.
  • Knowledge of photonics, microfabrication, microelectronics, electronics, or optical systems integration.
  • Relevant experience in technology project management, multidisciplinary team coordination, or technical leadership.
  • Experience in an industrial environment, technology product development, or transfer to production.
  • Knowledge of English is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain a milestone-based project management structure, including a continuous improvement approach based on PDCA: Plan, Do, Check, Act.
  • Lead, coordinate, and monitor the activities of a multidisciplinary team within a matrix organization.
  • Plan deliverables, timelines, priorities, and the resources required to move projects forward.
  • Coordinate activities with technical experts, integration leads, and the design, manufacturing, testing, product, and operations teams.
  • Ensure clear and regular communication with internal clients, technical collaborators, and management throughout the evolution of projects.
  • Identify technical, operational, and organizational risks, propose mitigation plans, and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Prepare and facilitate follow-up meetings, document decisions, issues, next steps, and each person’s responsibilities.
