To support us in our efforts to take on new and challenging projects, Colliers Project Leaders is seeking a Project Manager with specialized expertise in the execution of building and/or infrastructure construction projects.

Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years of experience as a project manager representing owners in the execution of building development, infrastructure, and capital improvement projects for institutional clients (healthcare, higher education), municipalities, government agencies (provincial and/or federal), and First Nations governments
  • University degree in engineering, architecture, or construction economics (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Excellent knowledge of various design and construction methods, project management and financial management models, as well as building codes, contract law, and relevant legislation
  • Excellent understanding of project management methods
  • Strong leadership skills and an excellent ability to influence others and successfully resolve a wide range of client, project, and technical issues
  • Proven experience in delivering projects from the concept development stage through to occupancy and warranty inspections
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong computer skills and practical knowledge of planning (MS Project), word processing (Word), and spreadsheet (Excel) applications
  • ASP card
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis. The employer will not sponsor applicants for work visas.

  • Engineering degree or PMP certification is a plus; other qualifications are welcome

Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with clients and serve as a single point of contact to ensure the achievement of their strategic goals and aspirations
  • Lead work programs and major capital projects of varying size, scope, and complexity
  • Meet or exceed client expectations for all projects and represent their interests regarding contractual and technical matters
  • Lead project meetings and client meetings. Manage multiple stakeholders and communication flows
  • Provide regular progress reports on projects through schedule updates, meeting minutes, financial data, and other reports
  • Oversee and manage the change management process, payment certificates, and other administrative documents related to contracts or projects
  • Oversee the control of project-related documents and ensure that work complies with our quality management system and procedures
