About The Position

Royal Vet is a new breed of veterinary clinic on a mission to reinvent the pet care experience. We are veterinarian-founded and veterinarian-led, putting the wellbeing of our staff at the forefront of what we do. In doing so, our team can consistently deliver compassionate primary and urgent care to pets in need. We are looking for an outstanding Practice Manager to lead our Rosemont clinic in Montreal, just steps away from the Jean Talon market! Reporting directly to the General Manager, Quebec, the Practice Manager will own the day-to-day operations and performance of the clinic. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of technicians and support staff, while partnering with senior leadership to shape the culture, client experience, and overall success of the practice. You are the ideal candidate if you are a hands-on operator with strong leadership instincts, exceptional communication skills, a sharp eye for operational KPIs, and a genuine passion for building high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in operations, clinic management, or team-management roles
  • A proven people leader: you know how to inspire, develop, and hold a team accountable
  • Strong analytical skills; comfortable tracking operational KPIs and using data to make decisions
  • A builder's mindset: hands-on, resourceful, and ready to roll up your sleeves
  • Operates with high emotional intelligence and exceptional communication skills
  • Fluency in French and working proficiency in English (Rosemont serves a primarily French-speaking clientele)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in veterinary medicine or healthcare is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Leading day-to-day operations at the Rosemont clinic, ensuring outstanding service delivery and strong operational performance
  • Owning the clinic's KPIs (productivity, client satisfaction, retention, capacity utilization, etc.) — partnering with the GM, Quebec on monthly performance reviews and action plans
  • Managing the clinic calendar, appointment scheduling, and capacity planning to maximize both client access and team well-being
  • Administering the Practice Management Software, updating and adapting it to the evolving needs of the team
  • Managing inventory levels, supplier relationships, and the resources needed for optimal clinic operations
  • Ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and professional standards applicable in Quebec
  • Hiring, onboarding, coaching, and developing the clinic's support team (technicians, receptionists, and support staff — veterinarian hiring is managed separately)
  • Approving and monitoring staff timesheets, schedules, and time-off requests
  • Identifying development opportunities for team members, providing regular feedback and accountability to ensure ongoing growth
  • Advocating for your team to ensure they feel heard and their perspective is visible during leadership discussions
  • Implementing a culture that emphasizes work/life balance, flexibility, compassion, and a blame- and judgment-free environment
  • Delivering excellent client service, and ensuring escalations are addressed personally and promptly
  • Identifying opportunities to improve the client journey, from booking through follow-up
  • Partnering with the GM, Quebec to execute local growth initiatives, community engagement, and operational improvements
  • Solving problems, removing roadblocks, and supporting the team's needs as they arise
