About The Position

A unique opportunity has arisen to join our Business Services team in Montreal, Canada. This is a hybrid role, requiring attendance in the office three days per week. We are looking for a commercially astute and scientifically credible Business Services Manager to lead strategic proposal development and drive cross-functional commercial alignment. Working closely with Business Development, Contracts and wider Scientific team you will translate complex scientific content into clear, compelling, and commercially viable proposals and scopes of work. Given the nature of the role, strong understanding of drug development and the commercialisation of scientific concepts is a must, as you will act as a key bridge between technical expertise and commercial strategy. Experience within a drug discovery and/or drug development environment, gained within a biotech, CRO, CDMO, or pharmaceutical setting is preferred. This role is central to shaping high-quality, customer-focused proposals that support business growth, strengthen customer engagement, and drive commercial performance. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (Master’s, PhD, or MBA desirable)
  • 3–5+ years’ relevant experience in a drug discovery or drug development environment
  • Strong understanding of drug discovery and commercialisation of scientific concepts
  • Proven experience developing complex scientific or technical proposals
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously
  • Detail-oriented and delivery-focused
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence working cross-functionally with senior stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end development of scientific proposals, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and customer focus
  • Coordinate input from scientific Subject Matter Experts, Business Development, Contracts, and Operations
  • Integrate content from multiple authors into consistent, high-quality proposal documents and presentations
  • Support Business Development teams in shaping customer-focused value propositions and proposal messaging
  • Participate in customer calls and internal meetings to clarify opportunities and support proposal development
  • Facilitate internal proposal review meetings and track actions to ensure delivery to deadlines
  • Collaborate with Contracts to provide scientific context during commercial negotiations
  • Ensure proposals are accurately documented and managed within NetSuite
  • Lead the preparation of formal project scopes and ensure effective handover to Operations
  • Build strong internal relationships and promote a collaborative, consultative approach
