German Associate (Part-time) Instructor Pool 2026 - 2027
About The Position
MiraCosta College is seeking to build an instructor pool for German Associate Instructor positions for the 2026-2027 academic year. The college values cultural competency and seeks faculty who can integrate this into their teaching, demonstrating an understanding of diverse student backgrounds. Desirable qualifications include experience working with or advising minoritized and underrepresented students such as African American, Latinx, Pacific Islander, undocumented/mixed status, LGBTQIA+, first generation, or formerly incarcerated individuals. Applicants must meet specific minimum qualifications related to degrees in German or related fields, or hold a valid California Community College Credential. Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse student backgrounds is essential.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in German, or German Language & Literature or German Literature [locally approved at MiraCosta College]; OR bachelor’s degree in German, or German Language & Literature or German Literature [locally approved at MiraCosta College] AND master’s degree in another language or linguistics; OR a valid appropriate California Community College Credential in the discipline area. OR the equivalent.
- Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
