About The Position

Wood Rodgers, a leading engineering consulting firm, is hiring a lab technician to join our Geotechnical Department. This is a staffed, hourly, non-exempt position. The role involves performing basic geotechnical laboratory testing, recording and reporting results, assisting with laboratory accreditation, calibrating equipment, maintaining a clean work environment, and coordinating activities with the lab supervisor and project manager. The position also includes field support such as sample pickup and delivery, concrete sampling and testing, and concrete and asphalt coring, as well as vehicle maintenance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in geotechnical or environmental lab work preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic geotechnical laboratory testing, including soil, concrete, and aggregate testing
  • Record and report lab results
  • Assist with laboratory accreditation
  • Calibrate laboratory equipment
  • Maintain a clean work environment and organize lab tools and equipment
  • Coordinate activities with the lab supervisor and project manager
  • Field support including sample pickup and delivery, concrete sampling and testing, concrete and asphalt coring, etc.
  • Vehicle maintenance
