About The Position

Terracon’s internship and co-op program provides practical exposure to geotechnical, environmental, materials, and facilities engineering, along with the business functions that support these services. Interns work alongside professionals who demonstrate Terracon’s Core Values: Caring, Curiosity, Excellence, Integrity, and Prosperity.

The Geotechnical Intern collaborates with experienced engineers and technicians on field and laboratory assignments, supports active project work, and develops foundational skills in sampling, testing, data analysis, and report development. The role includes mentorship and participation in a nationwide internship cohort program, with opportunities to share the internship experience with executive leadership. The work supports safety, client service, and Terracon’s commitment to integrity and excellence.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, science, technical, or business-related fields.
• Interest in consulting and fieldwork.
• Demonstrated curiosity and teamwork, and alignment with Terracon’s values.
• A valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history may be required.

Nice To Haves

• Eligible majors include Civil, Environmental, Geotechnical, Geological, or Construction Engineering; Biology; Geology; or other related technical or business fields.
• Opportunity to learn ASTM, DOT, and COE testing standards; proposal and technical report development; project management fundamentals; quality management systems; and client communication and consulting skills.
