About The Position

NV5, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated, self-driven Senior to Associate Geotechnical Engineer, PE, GE, for a leadership position in its Irvine and Torrance, California offices. NV5 provides conventional geotechnical and construction materials testing services, as well as advanced geotechnical engineering for hillside design, retaining structures, bridges, seismic analyses, and forensic geotechnical engineering. Clients are in both the commercial and public sectors.

Requirements

Experience with public works and transportation projects.
Experience with geotechnical design and calculations for permanent and temporary support systems for excavation and building foundations.
Ability to perform seismic risk analysis and soil-structure interaction analysis.
At least 5 years of relevant senior-level geotechnical engineering experience.
An advanced degree in geotechnical engineering.
Experience processing foundation reports and experience as a project manager.
A California PE license is required.
A California GE license, or the ability to obtain one quickly, is required.

Nice To Haves

Experience with gINT, LPile, SlopeW, MathCAD, and CAD.
California GE license (preferred).

Responsibilities

Direct and execute geotechnical project assignments, including engineering analysis and report preparation, field exploration, and laboratory services.
Provide senior-level review of proposals and reports and ensure commitments to clients are met.
Direct and develop proposals and presentations and assist in business development activities.
Supervise geotechnical staff and technicians.
Actively participate in professional and technical organizations.
