The Geostructural Design Engineer will be primarily focused on geostructural design, including calculations and plan preparation. This role involves performing geostructural design for ground improvement, retaining walls, temporary support of excavation, underpinning, temporary groundwater dewatering, slope stability, and specialty deep foundations. The engineer will also assist with submittal reviews of contractor shop drawings, including vendor qualifications, materials, procedures, proof and verification tests, and other related construction documentation. Additionally, the role includes preparing proposals, managing project budgets, and preparing change orders and invoices. The engineer will host or attend project meetings with clients to follow up on delivered reports and provide technical solutions. Other duties include assisting with or performing traditional geotechnical engineering responsibilities with supervision, such as preparing AutoCAD drawings, preparing drilling packages, performing research on local geologic history, supervising field work, performing in-situ testing, classifying soil/rock, and assigning laboratory testing. The role also involves mentoring and supporting Staff Project Managers, Assistant Staff Project Managers, and technicians.
