The Geotechnical Senior Project Engineer - Special Projects Group is responsible for overseeing all project tasks from proposal to final invoice payment, either by performing them directly or by delegating to subordinates. This role involves consultation, attending meetings, mentoring junior staff, and embodying ECS Core Values with a positive customer service attitude. The position requires a strong commitment to meeting project deadlines while managing geotechnical engineering and geostructural design projects. This includes tasks such as performing boring layouts, obtaining utility clearances, supervising drill rigs, performing in-situ testing, classifying soils, determining appropriate laboratory tests, and preparing comprehensive geotechnical engineering reports. Management of geostructural design projects encompasses areas like earth retention systems (MSE walls, soil nail walls, pile and lagging walls), temporary support of excavation, deep foundation elements, ground improvement, and dewatering. The role also involves preparing and overseeing the preparation and review of geotechnical and CMT proposals, periodically overseeing CMT projects with daily report review, and assisting junior staff with issue resolution and field staff training. Additionally, the Senior Project Engineer will host or attend project meetings with clients to follow up on delivered reports and provide technical solutions, mentor, train, and develop junior-level staff, and collaborate with other managers on staffing decisions.
