About The Position

Permian Resources is offering internship opportunities to college students to help their career development while advancing the objectives of the company. These paid summer intern opportunities will grant hands-on experience related to their field of study by working on specific projects that will aid their learning and add value to the Company. Each intern will be paired with a manager and mentor who will provide technical guidance throughout the internship. Along with their projects, interns will take part in a multitude of activities such as training, field tours, volunteer and networking opportunities with executives. The internship will culminate with a presentation crafted to showcase your knowledge of your work assignments and other aspects of your internship experiences. Geology Internship Job Description: Permian Resources (NYSE: PR) is currently seeking a Geology Intern for the Summer of 2027 Intern Program in Midland, Texas. The candidate will work with a team of Geologists, Reservoir and Geoscience specialists to integrate data sets including reservoir behavior and well performance. Additionally, the candidate could be responsible for advanced mapping, log analysis, play fairway analysis, core analysis, integration of seismic, operations, and public data into the reservoir model and geologic understanding of the assets. The ideal candidate will have strong technical as well as communication skills and be able to contribute his/her expertise while working on multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer and/or education institution
  • Pursuing or have completed a degree in Geosciences or related fields
  • Current level in college: Sophomore through Graduate student
  • Expected graduation: Fall of 2028 through Spring/Fall of 2029
  • Available for internship start mid-late May 2027
  • A minimum of 12 continuous weeks’ availability for internship
  • Strong technical skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to contribute expertise while working on a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum cumulative and major GPA of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Lower GPAs in the applicant’s field of study may be considered if extenuating circumstances apply
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects and obtain results in a performance driven, team-oriented environment

Responsibilities

  • Work with a team of Geologists, Reservoir and Geoscience specialists to integrate data sets including reservoir behavior and well performance.
  • Responsible for advanced mapping, log analysis, play fairway analysis, core analysis, integration of seismic, operations, and public data into the reservoir model and geologic understanding of the assets.
