About The Position

The Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Medical Oncologist with expertise in Genitourinary (GU) malignancies. The ideal candidate will be a scholarly clinician with strong interpersonal skills, dedicated to multidisciplinary patient care, and focused on clinical and/or translational research. Responsibilities include developing and implementing clinical trials for GU malignancies, collaborating across disciplines, and supporting the education of fellows, residents, and medical students. The care model is multidisciplinary, involving Advanced Practice Providers, Nurses, Nurse Navigators, Oncologists, and specialists from Urology, Surgery, Pathology, and Radiation Oncology. Mayo Clinic is a Comprehensive Cancer Center offering patients access to advanced diagnostics and clinical trials through its phase I program, phase II consortium, and national cooperative group studies. Requirements

  • Medical Oncologist with interest and expertise in Genitourinary (GU) malignancies.
  • Scholarly clinician with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to multidisciplinary patient care.
  • Focus in clinical and/or translational research.
  • Interest in developing and implementing clinical trials for patients with GU malignancies.
  • Ability to work across disciplines to advance the field of GU oncology.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Medical Oncology.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical oncology care for patients with Genitourinary (GU) malignancies.
  • Engage in clinical and/or translational research related to GU oncology.
  • Develop and implement clinical trials for patients with GU malignancies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including specialists from Urology, Surgery, Pathology, and Radiation Oncology.
  • Support the education of Hematology/Oncology fellows, medicine residents, and medical students.
  • Contribute to existing efforts and grow new programs within the GU oncology program.
  • Pursue a personalized academic career path related to GU research and treatment.
  • Potentially take on a leadership role within the GU oncology program.
  • Collaborate on enterprise-wide initiatives across Mayo Clinic’s sites.
