About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Genetic Counselor to join their team to support busy Maternal Fetal Medicine Practices in Southern CA. This is a hybrid position, working both onsite and remotely. The Genetic Counselor may be required to work onsite in the Greater Los Angeles and/or greater Southern California area and work remotely from home. Candidates must be located in the Southern California area or be willing to relocate.

Requirements

• Masters degree in Human Genetics or Genetic Counseling
• American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) certification or Active Candidate Status for ABGC
• Highly organized, including excellent time management skills
• Strong multi-tasking ability with excellent attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Strong computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

• 2 years or more experience as a certified Genetic Counselor
• 1 year or more experience of prenatal or reproductive Genetic Counseling

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite genetic counseling services for MFM practices in Orange County and Los Angeles, CA
• Have the opportunity to provide direct patient care for a wide variety of complex indications from an extensive referral base
• Be able to engage in professional growth opportunities including writing abstracts and publications, physician education and other projects
• Have access to the expertise of a nation-wide organization of medical geneticists, biochemical and geneticists, and over 100 counseling colleagues
• Participate in educational and research initiatives within Labcorp.
