About The Position

As an entry-level genetic counselor, you will work under the supervision of a certified genetic counselor to provide essential services, including genetic risk assessment, counseling, and patient education. Requirements

  • Master's Degree
  • Eligibility to sit for the ABGC certification exam within 1 year of hire

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient interviews and family history assessments to collect medical, genetic, and psychosocial information.
  • Provide genetic counseling for a variety of indications, including prenatal, pediatric, adult, and cancer genetics.
  • Educate patients and families about genetic conditions, inheritance patterns, testing options, and potential outcomes.
  • Assist with ordering, interpreting, and communicating genetic test results under the guidance of a certified genetic counselor.
  • Prepare case summaries, reports, and documentation for patient records.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case reviews.
  • Stay up-to-date with current developments in genetics and genomics.
  • Assist in the development of patient education materials and community outreach programs.
  • Other duties assigned.
