About The Position

Under general supervision and in addition to the full range of operational duties, incumbents are assigned responsibility to design, administer, and evaluate specialized counseling programs; design and conduct ongoing research programs; or serve as the designated experts, consultants, or sources of specialized knowledge withing the genetic counseling profession.

Requirements

Excellent genetic counseling and psychosocial skills to counsel individuals and/or families in a sensitive and confidential manner
Proficient in ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality
Demonstrates ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns
Ability to interact appropriately with referring providers
Proficient in ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes
Board certification in genetic counseling by the American Board of Medical Genetics
Licensure or eligibility for genetic counseling license in the state of California
A minimum of 3 years of experience
Must be able to provide proof of work authorization

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques
Working knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; attention to detail in both areas is very important
