About The Position
Performs basic clinical and administrative functions to support genetic counseling and risk assessment for individuals at risk.
Requirements
- Minimum Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Nice To Haves
- Current or planned enrollment in an accredited Master of Science in Genetics Counseling program
- Bachelor's degree in genetics/genetics counseling, biology, psychology, chemistry, or other health/science related field
Responsibilities
- Creates and updates patient pedigrees in risk assessment software.
- Assists genetics counselors in communication of normal test results to patients and physicians.
- Administers patient intake forms and completes family histories.
- Retrieves patient MR, scans EHR, performs maintenance on genetic counseling data.
- Assists with the creation of patient education, lecture and seminar materials.
- Assists in clinical investigations by performing literature searches.
- Performs other duties assigned.
