About The Position
The Genetic Assistant supports patient care in the department by assisting physicians, genetic counsellors and other staff with aspects of triage, clinic flow, case preparation, and case follow up. The Genetic Assistant will obtain patient records, access medical and research literature, track results, coordinate genetic testing for patient and family members, and prepare patient information.
Requirements
- Knowledge of basic genetics essential
- Strong communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary setting
- MS Office, Word, Excel and Access
- Demonstrated multi-tasking and prioritization skills
- Strong organizational skills
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor Degree in related field (i.e. Science, Biology, Genetics) preferred
