About The Position

The EPG Shop Technician performs diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on power generation equipment in a controlled shop environment. The role involves interpreting OEM service manuals, electrical schematics, and company procedures, and applying mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, including familiarity with AC/DC circuits and diagnostic tools. The work emphasizes accuracy, safety, and efficiency to support equipment reliability and customer satisfaction.

The position is primarily shop-based, with occasional field support. The work environment may include exposure to noise, dust, and industrial equipment, and PPE is required at all times. Occasional overtime may be necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must own basic industrial tools, including hand tools, torque wrenches, and multimeters.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Professionalism and attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Pass a pre-employment background check, physical exam, and drug screen.
• Ability to lift up to 50–80 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum 2 years of experience in generator repair or a related field.
• Technical training or military equivalent.
• Electrical troubleshooting experience.
• Experience working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on generators, ATS, and related components.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Complete service documentation and maintain accurate records.
• Adhere to safety standards and company policies.
• Demonstrate professionalism and support a safe, efficient work environment.
