Generator Shop Diesel Technician
About The Position
Power Plus is hiring a Generator Shop Diesel Technician for its United States Generator Rental team. The position is primarily responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining portable generators. Duties may also include field service repairs, refueling, delivering and picking up portable generators, providing technical support, and traveling as needed. The technician works with the operations manager and generator fleet manager to prioritize repairs and orders parts for repairs. The role may involve assisting field operations and participating in an on-call rotation after approval to work in the field.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of diesel engines.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams.
- Ability to use a computer and related software to troubleshoot engine and generator controls.
- Mechanical background.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- Ability to drive a company vehicle.
Nice To Haves
- Generator experience is a plus.
- Working knowledge of Isuzu, Cat, Cummins, Doosan, MQ, MMD, Volvo, and John Deere engines and generators.
