About The Position

The Generation Technical Specialist provides on-site technical support for APS and contractor teams working on aeroderivative turbines. The specialist ensures maintenance and repair work complies with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications, industry best practices, regulations, and safety standards. Working with engineering teams, the specialist evaluates inspection results and performance trends and recommends proactive maintenance or repairs. The role also supports power plants in diagnosing and resolving emergent turbine issues and serves as a liaison between plant personnel and turbine OEMs to promote reliability and efficiency. The position provides technical guidance on turbine control systems, instrumentation, communication networks, protection interfaces, and auxiliary control equipment. It leads or coordinates maintenance, upgrades, software migrations, testing, and commissioning; oversees OEM representatives, vendors, and contractors; and helps plan outages and control system projects. The specialist also produces technical reports, mentors plant personnel, and stays current with turbine controls, automation, and lifecycle-management developments. The role is hybrid, with employees expected to work about 40% of their time in person at an APS or other non-home-office location. Employees are expected to reside in Arizona, or in New Mexico if based at Four Corners. Working from a home office requires adequate technology and an appropriate ergonomic setup. Role types may change based on business need.
