As an Engineer II – Generation Interconnection at MISO, you will support the generation interconnection process by helping new energy resources connect to the electric grid safely, reliably, and efficiently. You will conduct power system studies, evaluate proposed generation resources and HVDC facilities, and collaborate with interconnection customers, transmission owners, and internal teams to address technical challenges and advance projects. The role also offers opportunities to manage projects, improve processes, and take ownership of work supporting the evolving needs of the electric grid. Success in the role includes independently managing and performing studies involving surplus interconnection, generator suspension, retirement and replacement requests, and merchant HVDC requests; conducting affected system studies for generator interconnection requests within MISO and neighboring transmission systems; evaluating projects proposed by Transmission Owners and making technical recommendations; contributing to internal and external committees, task forces, and working groups; and applying sound engineering judgment to deliver timely solutions aligned with applicable standards, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The position is based in Carmel, Indiana; Eagan, Minnesota; or Little Rock, Arkansas. MISO manages the electricity grid and energy market across the Central U.S., supporting reliable power delivery to 47 million people throughout North America.
