About The Position

Under limited supervision, the Human Resources Generalist supports the daily operations of the Human Resources department, including recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, leave management, performance management, compliance, and policy implementation. This position serves as a key resource for employees and management while ensuring adherence to company policies and employment regulations.

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of progressive Human Resources experience required.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of organizational operations required.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and HRIS platforms.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR preferred.
  • Experience supporting multi-site or multi-state operations.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.
  • Knowledge of California employment laws and HR best practices preferred.
  • Experience with employee engagement and talent development initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with required training, continuing education, certifications, licenses, and employee assessments, including safety and anti-harassment training.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified candidates for open positions. Collaborates with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and required competencies.
  • Conducts or coordinates background checks, reference checks, and employment eligibility verifications.
  • Administers and supports new hire onboarding and orientation programs.
  • Assists with employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives.
  • Performs routine and complex HR functions, including: Compensation and benefits administration, Leave management, Employee relations and conflict resolution, Performance and talent management, Investigations and disciplinary actions, Training and development, Workplace safety and compliance.
  • Responds to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and managers, escalating sensitive or complex issues as appropriate.
  • Participates in employee disciplinary meetings, investigations, and termination processes.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Assists with developing, updating, and communicating HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Maintains current knowledge of HR trends, employment legislation, and industry best practices.
  • Generates reports and analyzes HR metrics to support business objectives and workforce planning.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • May supervise or coordinate the work of HR support staff and interns.
  • May assist in assigning work, monitoring performance, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • May provide guidance and training to junior team members as needed.
