About The Position
Responsible for the expedient and accurate handling of merchandise into and/or out of the warehouse facility. General warehouse duties take place within the assigned area of warehouse operations, but the position supports all areas of the warehouse as needed. The role involves moving, checking, sorting, labeling, palletizing, replenishing, picking, and loading merchandise. The worker reports damages or vendor compliance issues, partners with a supervisor to resolve problems or discrepancies, and meets safety, productivity, and quality standards. Other related duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
Requirements
- Communication skills sufficient to communicate with co-workers, understand and provide directions, respond to management inquiries, and make entries on reports and records.
- Basic knowledge of simple math concepts.
- Ability to use a Radio Frequency Unit.
- Ability to learn the basic use and operation of motorized merchandise movement equipment.
- Ability to maintain annual certification requirements.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience working in an automated distribution center preferred.
- Experience with warehouse management systems applications preferred.
Responsibilities
- Move incoming or outgoing merchandise throughout the distribution center by hand, hand truck, or forklift equipment.
- Check, verify, and audit merchandise to ensure ordered merchandise was received and is as ordered and not damaged or defective; enter data into a remote data terminal.
- Identify, separate, label, and palletize merchandise onto flats.
- Replenish pick areas as identified by replenishment reports and requests for merchandise.
- Fill merchandise orders from stores by selecting and moving merchandise from pick slots to conveyors.
- Load outgoing merchandise from conveyors and/or four-wheel trucks into trailers.
- Report damages and vendor compliance issues to a supervisor.
- Partner with a supervisor to resolve problems or discrepancies.
- Meet safety, productivity, and quality standards.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
