About The Position

Works in multiple departments within a distribution center, including case pick, shipping, receiving, returns, loading, order processing, and replenishment. Operates material handling equipment to move inventory within the facility. The role works under general supervision and uses judgment within well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques. Complex or unusual problems are referred to a supervisor, and output is regularly reviewed by a senior coworker or supervisor.

The work environment is typically comfortable, but includes regular exposure to factors that may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness, such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes. The position requires lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, standing for periods up to and exceeding 60 minutes, and repetitive movements such as using a 10-key or calculator, bending, or squatting. No travel is required.

Requirements

• Ability to understand written material.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for periods up to and exceeding 60 minutes.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements, such as using a 10-key or calculator, bending, or squatting.
• High school diploma or GED is strongly preferred.
• Specialized skills training or certification may be required.
• Generally 2–5 years of experience in the area of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Use material handling equipment to locate and deliver products, supplies, and equipment to designated areas.
• Assist with staging and loading orders into trucks for customer delivery.
• Verify the quantity and quality of incoming products from vendors and distribution centers.
• Use packing list information to collect items for customer orders, including building and wrapping product pallets.
• Examine and inspect stock items for wear and defects and notify management of inventory issues.
• Return misplaced products to proper storage areas.
• Maintain a clean working environment in accordance with company safety policies.
• Perform inventory control functions as needed.
