The salary range posted represents the low and high end of OSI’s salary range for this position. Salaries will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, experience and performance. Base salary is one component of OSI’s overall total rewards package. Other components may include bonuses, special pay programs, comprehensive time off, 401k with match and a full suite of benefit offerings for you and your family.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in related field is preferred.
  • Excellent proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite Products.
  • Ability to perform comparative analysis and make recommendations.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to read and follow a designated recipe.
  • Basic understanding of units of measure and their applications.
  • Proficient math knowledge.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow written specifications, blueprints, or schematics in English.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and operates assigned production equipment in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
  • Leads the employees engaged in a variety of manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials.
  • Participates and leads root-cause analysis meetings.
  • Trains new employees.
  • Tracks equipment down time.
  • Develops related SOP/SSOPs and line specific KPIs.
  • Operates various types of machinery, as needed, and as described by assigned leadership.
  • Oversees production line by watching for equipment malfunctions or product defects, loading raw materials into equipment, unloading work in progress, or finished product and moving materials to and from the equipment.
  • Sets up assigned equipment each day according to the posted production schedule and as required based on the product specifications. Disassembles at the close of each day for sanitation.
  • Monitors equipment operations: troubleshoots and resolves basic malfunctions, notifies supervision and the maintenance staff when significant issues occur.
  • Diagnoses and repairs common mechanical malfunctions on production equipment.
  • Performs scheduled preventative maintenance on production equipment.
  • Replaces broken belts, knives, seals, gaskets, etc., as indicated by condition, malfunction, or planned replacement schedule.
  • Performs data recording, entry, and adjustment as needed.
  • Calibrates systems to time, temperature, and positions of equipment.
  • Calibrates production equipment to ensure that all parts are running efficiently and correctly according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Records and interprets temperatures as related to the process.
  • Uses, reads, and records measuring devices and product parameters.
  • Monitors equipment daily and takes corrective measures to resolve issues.
  • Works with the maintenance staff to establish and implement preventative maintenance programs and best practice equipment operation methods.
  • Notifies management or supervisory staff if unusual or out of spec operations are identified.
  • Performs general housekeeping duties in the production area: maintains a safe and clean work area while in compliance with existing policy.
  • Takes ownership and responsibility for the equipment and machinery.
  • Complies with organization policies including, but not limited to, safety, good manufacturing practices, food safety, and employment and work rules.
  • Coordinates with supervisor machine coverage during rest periods and meal breaks in accordance with company policy.
  • Maintains accurate labor and materials records on work orders and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Understands and places in practice appropriate safety procedures through education, training, use of protective equipment (as applicable) and by following safety policies, regulations, standards, and laws.
