About The Position

Quest Diagnostics is currently seeking a General Surgical Pathologist to join a team of 16 pathologists covering four hospitals and a central laboratory in Las Vegas, Nevada. This dynamic pathology group includes subspecialties such as hematopathology, cytopathology, dermatopathology, and subspecialty-trained GI and Head and Neck surgical pathologists. The role involves rotations between the Burnham lab and hospital settings, with expectations of performing frozen sections and rapid on-site evaluations (ROSE). The case mix will include outpatient and hospital-based surgical pathology cases, covering areas like breast, GYN, GU, and GI, along with some cytology cases (body fluids, urine, GI brushings, pap smears, etc.).

Requirements

Medical Degree required.
Board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
Current unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of Nevada or eligibility for licensure.

Nice To Haves

Pathologists with 1 to 3 years of experience preferred.
Strong customer focus and understanding of laboratory operations.
Ability to communicate with high level decision makers in the organization.
Board-certified or subspecialty fellowship training in GYN, GU, Head and Neck, or GI.

Responsibilities

Rotation between the Burnham lab and hospital settings.
Performing frozen sections and rapid on-site evaluations (ROSE).
Handling a mix of outpatient and hospital-based surgical pathology cases including breast, GYN, GU, and GI.
Reviewing cytology cases such as body fluids, urine, GI brushings, and pap smears.
