About The Position

Baystate Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join their Surgical Practice in Springfield. This role involves functioning independently to assess, develop, and implement care plans for complex patients with medical and/or psychosocial disorders. The nurse will provide quality triage and patient care using strong assessment skills, point-of-care testing, and quality assurance checks. Responsibilities include establishing and implementing care plans with patient/family and provider input, managing more complex medical patients, triaging and coordinating care to ensure access and success, promoting health and wellness, and demonstrating a proactive approach to disease management. The role also involves building patient trust and engaging patients/families in their care and treatment, while understanding social and cultural differences that may impede care.

Requirements

  • Massachusetts license as an RN
  • BLS CPR certified
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment & handle multiple tasks/priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have competency in delivering exceptional nursing care and have proven success in partnering with both physicians and Other

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in practice specialty or related nursing experience preferred to include Med- Surg, OR, PACU, PEA

Responsibilities

  • Establishes plan of care, sets priorities and implements the plan of care with patient/family and team/provider input.
  • Builds on knowledge and experience to include more diagnoses and complicated medical patients.
  • Triages and coordinates patient care ensuring access to care and patient success.
  • Promotes health and wellness for individuals and groups of patients.
  • Demonstrates a proactive approach to acute and chronic disease management.
  • Develops patient trust and engages the patient/ family in care and treatment.
  • Understands social and cultural differences that might impede patient care.
