About The Position

United Health Services Hospitals is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join an established outpatient General Surgery team in Binghamton, NY. This role involves working closely with a collaborative team of surgeons specializing in general, vascular, and trauma surgery. The position offers the opportunity to conduct new and established patient visits in an outpatient setting, perform comprehensive evaluations, manage ongoing care, and provide patient education on procedures and treatment plans. Responsibilities also include postoperative care, coordination of patient communication, and performing wound care procedures.

Requirements

• Active New York State NP or PA license required
• DEA registration and board certification required

Nice To Haves

• 1–2 years of NP/PA experience preferred; new graduates are encouraged to apply
• Prior experience as an APP or RN in a surgical setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct new and established patient visits in an outpatient setting, including comprehensive evaluations and ongoing care management
• Perform patient consultations with thorough education on procedures and treatment plans
• Provide postoperative care and follow-up for surgical patients, monitoring recovery and addressing complications as needed
• Coordinate patient communication and triage inquiries in collaboration with clinical and administrative team members
• Perform wound care procedures, including complex dressing changes and wound VAC management
